Abstract

Literatures on thermal transmissivity of wood are reviewed and summarized. Experimental data about six kinds of wood have been provided; The effect of the specific density and the grain direction upon the thermal conductivity is shown. The reason of data deviation has been discussed. Thermal diffusivity, which determines rate of temperature change, is readily calculated from available values for conductivity, specific heat and density, and is compared with data from various sources.
