Botryosphaeria spp. could cause the canker of many varieties of trees and fruit trees and are widely distributed in the world. In this paper,the documents on the tree canker caused by Botryosphaeria spp. during about 50 years were evaluated and analyzed. The disease incidence and damage were generalized. And the pathogen and host trees preliminarily got to know through these documents. On the basis of these, the incidence law of tree canker was analyzed. Some control measures on the disease which had been carried out for years were summed up. At last, this article pointed out the problems which recently existed in this field. And the current studying directions were made clear.
