The Finite Element Simulation of the Set Experiment for the Automotive Drive Axle Housing

Abstract

The 3D model of the drive axle housing was established with the software Pro/ENGINEER in this paper.Based on this model,the set experiment according to the national standard could be simulated in computer under the circumstances of ANSYS.Analysis results indicate that the intensity and rigidity of this drive axle housing is enough,fatigue life reach the national standard.Meanwhile there is a good agreement between the finite elements analysis results and test results.So it is possible to simulate the set experiment of the automotive drive axle housing in computer.The application of this method will raise working efficiency.
