The spatial distribution characteristics of fine roots of Punica granatum tree in the hilly area of Taihang Mountain were analyzed.The main results showed that vertically,the fine roots concentrated at the 0～80 cm soil zone where the amount of the fine roots accounted for 91.32% of the total,and varied with the soil depth in a negative exponent curve;horizontally,the amount of the fine root in the zone to 0～100 cm and 100～250 cm from the tree row accounted for 76.07% and 23.93% of the total respectively.
