The karyotype of Osmanthus fragrans Lour, was investigated by a normal technique. The result shows that the nummber of the somatic chromosome is 2 n=46,the basic nummber of chromosome 23. The index of relative length is 6 L+12M2+24 M1+4 S,and the karyotype formula is summarized as 2 n=2x=46=30m+6sm+8st+2t. The karyotype belongs to 2B type of Stebbins’ karyotypic symmetry. The index of karyotpe asynnetry (As. k) is 64.09%.
