Abstract:
By applying the theory of mechanical comfort and combining subjective evaluation and objective test, the relation between sofa seated height and sitting comfort were studied. The suggestions were given on optimizing seat interface design. The results indicated that the pressure distribution on seat surface was closely related to sitting comfort. The mean pressure gradient could better reflect the leg comfort. The seated height of sofa should be higher than that of hardsurface seat.
