Abstract:
Since the inside temperature is higher and moisture lower, the temperature gradient and moisture gradient arc opposite, which is disadvantageous to moisture transfer from the inside to the outside of the wood. Due to the absorption byinfrared radiation at wood surface, the evaporation rate is great. As a result, the difference of ws - Wb diminished and the evaporation strength through wood surface into the nearest air is reduced. After heating, the evaporation of the radiated side is not so great as the unradiated side. Therefore, we come to the conclusion that drying wood by far infrared radiation is not rational.
