Abstract:
Steamexploded corn straw has been examined as a candidate feedstock for both cellulase production and enzymatic hydrolysis. Batch cultivation of Trichderma reesei Rut c 30 on 3.75%(wt%) corn stalk yielded filter paper activity 1.76 IU/mL and high cellobiase activity (0.38 IU/mL)in three days. The yield of enzymatic hydrolysis on 10% steamexploded corn stalk was 80.2%. The study also investigated the effect of cellobiose and strach hydrolysate on enzyme production. It was found that cellobiose inhibited the enzyme production, the filter paper activity and cellobiose activity decreased by 30%~40% when cellobiose concentration was 0.25~1.50 g/L. The effect of starch hydrolysate on enzyme production was detemined by the inhibition of glucose and the inducement of olignosaccharides. It was found that the starch hydrolysate as a celluase inducer was uneconomical.
