Abstract:
Clonal plants adapt themselves to the different level of resource availability by phenotypic plasticity. Based on the measurement of all individuals in a sample plots and following excavation of clones, the differences of clonal growth of Hippophae rhamnoides L. subsp sinensis clone population under the same environment condition were analyzed. The results showed that the characteristics of clonal growth and clonal morphology have significant difference. The characteristics are listed as the number and the size of daughter ramet, the distribution patter of daughter ramet number and daughter ramet size referring to distance from its mother ramet, and the height class structure of daughter ramet group (daughter ramets within a clone) among clones. And there was a positive correlation between the basal diameter of mother ramet and daughter ramet.
