Abstract:
A new compound 4vinyl4′chlorobenzophenone (4VCBP) was prepared by addition of pchlorobenzonitrile and a Grignard reagent obtained from pchlorostyrene and hydrolyzation of the intermediate. Effects of the temperature, time, and the ratio of reactants on yield were examined. The results showed that the optimum preparation conditions were determined as follows: addition reaction was carried at 50℃, for 10 h, and the ratio of Grignard reagent to pchlorobenzonitrile was 1.4∶1; hydrolyzation was performed at reflux for 8 h in benzene, and the yield of 4VCBP reached to 75%.
