Abstract:
In this paper, 3 year old seedlings of four types of Ilexs, Ilex chinensis, I.dabeishannensis, I.×meserveae ‘Blue Girl’ and I.crenata ‘Golden Gem’ were treated with benzene stress. After the treatment, the ultrastructure changes of their mesophyll cells were observed under the transmission electron microscope. The results showed that: for all the tested samples, their membrance systems, organelle structure stabilities and nucleus structures were damaged at different degree after the benzene stress and their fastness in resisting benzene stress were sorted as I.dabeishannensis﹥I.×meserveae ‘Blue Girl’﹥I.crenata ‘Golden Gem’﹥Ilex chinensis.
