Abstract:
Liriodendron hybrid has been the lack of a valid binomial name for a long time, commonly the hybrid was used a hybrid formula of expression, namely Liriodendron chinense(Hemsl.)Sarg.×L. tulipifera L.. In general scientific report or document, the hybrid is often a L. chinense subsidiary, never regarded as a level of species. The hybrid is a separate species, has its distinct morphological and biological characteristics, has been widely cultivated and used in China. According to the “International Code of Botanical Nomenclature” on hybrid name naming rules, the name of hybrid is newly revised. Now the new name is Liriodendron sino-americanum P.C. Yieh ex Shang et Z. R. Wang.
