Abstract:
Forest plays an important role in reducing the carbon dioxide concentration in atmosphere and slowing the trendency of global warming. Therefore, estimating the carbon storage of forest ecosystems has been a hot pot in ecological research field. However, the results of estimation varied greatly obtained from different testimation methods. We reviewed the estimation methods of carbon pools of forest ecosystems such as woods, shrubs and herbs, litters, coarse woody debris, soil and wood product pools etc, and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the different method so as to provide a basis for precisely determining the carbon storage of forest ecosystems.
