Abstract:
By using the compression tests of the small spring mattress samples, the correlation between the spring shape or dimensions and the overall mattress characteristics was studied. By using subjective evaluation of mattress products, the relationship between the overall mattress properties and the subjective lying comfort was also studied. The results showed: the firmness and elasticity distribution of biconical spring mattresses was relatively uniform, and the sensation of body support was well and the lumbar was fully supported. However the stability of the overall mattress was poor, the firmness and elasticity gradient of cylindrical pocket spring mattress interface was greater. When mattress core was too soft,the hip will sag into the mattress and spine will not be supported correctly. The support properties of barrelshaped pocket spring mattress was reasonable, but the mattress stability had to be guaranteed, suggested some optimizing spring connections were adopted.
