Abstract:
By using multivariate linear regression method, estimation model of forest volume and crown closure in the three years, 2000, 2005 and 2010 over the entire Suqian city were established in this paper. The method of mining forest information was used to determine the optimal combination estimation model with implementing the principal component analysis and the stepwise regression method based on Landsat TM. According to the statistic of validating estimate model, the result of the estimation was relatively accurate and could satisfy the requirement basically, which was more than 96%. Grading the crown closure and forest volume showed that there was a progressive improvement in Suqian′s forest resources of three periods. A continuous increase of forest volume, implied a good sign of ecological functioning in Suqian.
