Abstract:
Extracts of Ginkgo biloba (EGb)has many biological activities, however, the existence of ginkgolic acids in EGb limit the applications of EGb. Currently, organic solvent method and column chromatography method are the main ways to remove ginkgolic acids from EGb. As a new method, coordination-organic solvent method was put forward based on organic solvent method. In coordination-organic solvent method,metal ions were added to the mixed solution from the best technological conditions of organic solvent method. The results showed that the coordination-organic solvent method could not only effectively remove ginkgolic acids, but also reduce the extraction times without affecting the content of total flavonoid glycosides and total ginkgolides. Meanwhile, a small amount of flavonoids and zinc ions could form complexes, which could improve the EGb activity of anti-hepatoma cells(HepG2).
