Abstract:
5,5-Dimethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroanthracene-1,4-dione was synthesized by alkylation of 6-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)naphthalene-1,4-diquinone, and the structure of the product was analyzed by FT-IR, GC-MS and 1H-NMR. Effects of the types of catalysts and their dosage, reaction temperature, reaction time, and the kind of solvent on the alkylation reaction were discussed, and the suitable reaction conditions were determined as follows: polyphosphate(PPA)was used as the catalyst; molar ratio of n(naphthalene quinone):n(polyphosphate)=1:2; ethyl acetate was used as the solvent; the reaction temperature was 70 ℃; reaction time was 7 h.The yield of the product was 61.7% at above reaction conditions.
