Abstract:
【Objective】In order to provide a theoretical basis for the cultivation and sustainable management of Phyllostachys edulis forests, the effects of nitrogen fertilization on nitrification and denitrification in Ph. edulis forests were explored, and the correlation between nitrogen transformation rates and main soil factors was analyzed.【Method】The gross nitrification rate and denitrification rate of fertilized Phyllostachys edulis forests were determined in different seasons(April, July, October and January in the following year)by using the measure named barometric process separation(BaPS). 【Result】The gross nitrification rate and the denitrification rate of fertilized forests had similar seasonal dynamics, increasing first and then decreasing. The gross nitrification rate and the denitrification rate of fertilized forests were the highest in July, they were 27.50% and 44.60% higher than that of unfertilized treatment respectively. The gross nitrification rate and the denitrification rate of fertilized forests were the lowest in January and October, they were 45.58% and 402.56% higher than that of unfertilized treatment respectively.【Conclusion】 Nitrogen fertilization could promote soil nitrification and denitrification, and increased soil nitrate concentration and microbial biomass nitrogen. There were significant interactions between nitrogen fertilization and season on nitrification and denitrification. Soil temperature and moisture correlated positively and significantly with the two transformation rates.
