Abstract: By means of pot planting experiments, effects of IBA on seedling biomass and the uptake, accumulation and translocation of Cd2+ from the soil by Liquidambar formosana Hance seedlings were studied. The main results were described as follows:(1)IBA not only improved the root and leaf biomass of seedlings, but also had significant effects on the accumulation of Cd2+ in seedling. The effect of 600 mg/L IBA treatment was higher than that of 200 mg/L IBA treatment.(2)The biomass of roots and leaves under 600 mg/L IBA treatment was 1.57 and 2.09 times as the control respectively(p<0.05); Cd2+ concentration in roots and leaves was 2.36 and 2.03 times as the control respectively(p<0.05). IBA had influence on the bioaccumulation and translocation of Cd2+in seedling. The 600 mg/L IBA treatment was the most effective for the phytoremediation of Cd2+ contaminated soil by L. formosana Hance seedlings by subordinate function.
