<正>本文在研究西双版纳傣族自治州的自然条件、社会经济条件和国家与人类社会对西双版纳的战略需要的基础上,论述了西双版纳自然保护的主要对象是热带森林生态系统,主要是包括珍贵的、稀有的、特有的、古老的动植物和微生物在内的以木本植物为主体的热带生物系统,以及与其相适应的环境系统的统一整体。并探讨了西版纳自然保护在经济社会发展中的重要作用。

On the basis of the studies of Xishuangbanna natural conditions, social economic conditions and the strategic needs of the country, this paper expounds and proves that the chief object to be protected in the Xishuangbanna. Reserve is the tropical forest ecosystem or the tropical biological ecosystem, with woody plants, including precious, unusual, peculiar or ancient plants, animals and micro-organisms, etc, as its major components, the important role played by the Xishuangbanna Nature Reserve in local economic and social development is simultaneously studied.
