Bacterial wilt is a destructive disease caused by Ralstonia solanacearum and distributed in many countries of the world. Based on the classification of R. solanacearum, this paper mainly summarized the methods currently used in detecting the bacteria including traditional isolation and culture, immunological and molecular methods. The choice of specific detection methods was also discussed.
