Abstract: To compensate for the shortcomings of the ordinary least square method; a new recurrence formula for it is presented and attempts are made to apply it in the forestry ,research work. The relevant equations are as follows:Two examples are given to show the use of the formula, which indicates that the new recurrence formula not only keeps the excellent properties of ordinary least square method but also can play a special role in the detection of dynamics of forest resources.
