The Prediction of In-plane Shearing Modulus of Poplar Veneer

The models for in-plane shearing modulus of fast growing poplar veneer were built based on the formal researches, in which not only the density of wood, and splits of veneer back were included, but also glue contents and compression ratios of the veneer were analyzed. The results showed that the average relative errors were 20% (Vg>Vp)between prediction and trial values. Considering the compression ratios of the veneer and glue contents, the ranges of in-plane Poison’s ratio were analyzed.
