Abstract
The chemical structure, polymerization characteristics of the commercial onecomponent polyurethane were analyzed with 13C NMR. The viscoelastic properties of bonded joints, ambient creep and shear properties of glulam beams were evaluated by thermomechanical analyses. The results showed that onecomponent polyurethane displayed a significant temperaturedependent creep, and the ambient creep was not the main factor because it was inhibited. The equilibrium moisture content (EMC) of the wood before and after bonding had a great influence on bonding performance of polyurethane. The mechanical properties of glulam from green gluing could not meet the requirement of any structure standards, but good bonding performance of wood after redrying was observed.
