Abstract: The authers of this paper have synthesized a new, successful wocd adhesive. When the melamine, and other chemical materials are added to urea and formaldehyde, copolymerization will take place and the MUF resin adhesive is made.Results of tests and examinations showed that this adhesive reached the standard of the phenol formaldehyde resin. Its production cost was about only half of the cost of the PF resin, close to that of UF rcsin. The production process of this adhesive was simple and easy.Recently the MUF resin adhesive has been put into use in the manufacturing of artificial boards, such as plywood, middle density fibrebeard,oparticleboard, etc. Results show the properties of these artificial boards are goad and their their costs low.
