Abstract: In the course of studying the sylva-flora in Fujian, the author of this paper got some firsthand data. In this paper, a comparison between Cinnamomum japonicum Sieb, and C. chekiangense Nakai is made, which shows that between them there exist a series of characteristics different from each other; therefore they should not be identified as the same species as some authors did. Further. lots of field observations made by the author show that there are neither basic differences between Altingia gratilipes Hemsl. and its var. serrulata Hutch., nor basic differences between Semiliquidambar caudata Chang and its var. cuspidata (Chang) Chang; consequently, the above varieties should be included in their own respective species. In addition, 14 species are considered to be ones newly recorded in Fujian.
