随着我国花卉事业的发展，广大花卉爱好者和生产者对花卉栽培的技艺不断提高，管理也更加精细。近年来在桂花产业中出现了不少新优品种，经我们调查研究，发现以前认为桂花是以观花、闻香为主的传统观念有所突破，如今有些新培育的桂花品种，其叶色、幼枝变异非常绚丽，是很优美的观赏植物，为丰富我国的园林景观增色。为此，我们在以前的桂花分类系统中，既有四季桂、银桂、金桂和丹桂等4个品种群的基础上，确定新建一个彩叶桂品种群。

This paper described and published three new cultivars of Osmanthus fragrans: ‘Yuntian Caigui’, ‘Yingbi Shuanghui’ ‘Qiannan Guifei’, and also introduces thier origin and prospects of garden construction application. At the same time a new Cultivar Group--Colour Group was established and also published. All of these new cultivars and new Group are registered and confirmed by International Cultivar Registration Center for Osmanthus（ICRCO）.
