Abstract: Laboratory evaluations were made to determine the effects of diflubenzuron (DFB) on the longevity and feeding activities of adult Batocera horsfieldi (Hope) In the first experiment, DFB was administered by spraying at a 100 mg/kg concentration to rose branches The treated and the untreated control rose branches were disposed in the same cage to determine the food preference of adults At the beginning of the experiment, adults obviously had no food preference on the untreated and the treated branches When adults were fed continuously, no significant differences in the intake of food were observed between two kinds of branches In the second experiment, rose branches were treated with DFB at concentration 100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg, respectively Adults were reared on the treated and the untreated control branches During the initial stage of experiment, the mortality of the treated adults was lower than that of untreated controls In the middle and later stage, the mortality of treated adults was higher than that of untreated controls  These results showed that DFB stimulated the activity of adult and shortened the longevity It was concluded that DFB had no significant toxicity, expellent and feeding inhibition activity on the adult Batocera horsfieldi (Hope)
