Abstract: The historic development of interior landscaping in foreign countries was systematically discussed in this paper from 5 aspects: origin of potted plants, development of greenhouse, mechanical control of interior environment, style change of architecture and enhancement of environmental awareness. It was inferred that plants in interior spaces was the corollary of civilization development and interior landscaping would be a promising discipline and industry out of or in our country.
