Abstract: Based on the field investigation and soil analysis,some soil physical and chemical properties in different agroforesty systems in northern area of Jiangsu province were studied.The main research results are as follows:The soil physical and chemical properties both in poplarcrop and paulowniacrop systems are much better than that in contract plot.In tree crop intercropping systems,the poplarcrop system is better than that of paulowniacrop system.There is a close relationship among soil fertilities.The content of soil nitrogen, phosphor and organic matter are decreasing with the increasing of soil depth.
