Abstract: Chlorophyll, soluble sugar, free amino acids, flavonoids, tannin, volatiles components and the activities of protective enzymes in healthy and mite-infested leaves of Metasequoia glyptostroboides were measured by plant physiological and biochemistry methods. The results showed that compared with healthy leaves of M. glyptostroboides, the content of chlorophyll, soluble sugar and free amino acids reduced 18.5%, 12.8% and 12.2% respectively, while the content of flavonoids and tannin increased 26.6% and 25.8%, respectively. The activities of peroxidase increased 65%, and the activities of superoxide dismutase increased 139%, which were obviously higher than that of control. 35 compositions in healthy leaves and 33 compositions in infested leaves were detected and identified respectively by SPME-GC-MS. 28 compositions of which were the same. The results suggested that some physiological and biochemical parameters were changed in M. glyptostroboides leaves injured by Brevipalpus lewisi.
