Abstract: The exotic Sonneratia apetala in Leizhou Peninsula has shown an outstanding fastgrowing ability in restored mangrove forests at the middle and high tide intertidal zone with yearround fresh water input from drainage. With condition of similarity of the environments before planting, three S.apetala plantation plotsplanted in 2000,1997,1995,respectivelyin Fuchen,Leizhou were selected for the mangrove restoration changes analyses on soil characteristics with a research goal to understand the mangrove restoration’s ecological process in soil.A total of 9 soil samples were collected in the field in April 2001.Test items included pH(Vsoil∶Vwater=2.5∶1,using electrical pH detector),wind dried soil’s water content(weight loss method, burning the samples in a burner at 105 ℃ for 5 h),physical partical component(Gravimeter test method),organic content(FeSO4 titration method),total salt contentAgNO3 titration method, total N(K2Cr2O7H2SO4 digestive method),total P(HClO4H2SO4 digestive and mixed indicator colorcomparison method),total Fe(Atom flamelight aborbing test method, using Detector SHIMADZUAA6 800),and water soluble ions of CO2-3/HCO-3Double indicators titration methodand of Ca2+,Mg2+ and SO2-4EDTA volume titration method.
