Abstract: The validity of the aggregate replacement measure for restraining alkali active inflates of sandstone aggregate was analyzed by three methods including concretes prism method, fast concretes prism method at 60 ℃, and the entire gradation concretes prism method. Analysis results indicated that a obvious effect of inhibiting alkali active inflation of sandstone was observed by replacing the combined aggregate of sandstone thin aggregate with marble artifical granulated substance, and the cement variety also gave some influence on the sandstone alkali active inflation. The sandstone alkali active inflation can be remarkably inhibited by adding 30 % of pulverized coal ash to the concretes. The suitable curing temperature should be controlled at around 38 ℃ after the constructing dam concretes.
