By means of the programming languages of PowerBuilder 9.0 and SQL SERVER 2000, adopting C/S patterns for data transfer and processing and the design methodology of modulization, a database for Liriodendron genetics and improvement was constructed to support the intelligence decision concerning Liriodendron breeding practices in this paper. Under the frame of Liriodendron genetics and improvement database, a decision system for computer based Liriodendron germplasm resources management and clonal utilization was elaborated also. Additionally, the functions of dynamic management of Liriodendron genetics and improvement and intelligence decision of the top clones with a fundamental requirement of sitespecies matching were successfully achieved in this system, and the system was characterized by powerful functions, easy manipulation, friendly interface and excellent humancomputer interactions.
