Abstract: A prediction model by mechanics of composite material and classical laminated plate theory with its mechanical property was found and validated based on the hypothesis of simplification and uniformization of the wood structure of Triplochiton scleroxylon. Modulus of elasticity(MOE)was varified and it showed that two dimension proposals of element cell could totally representation element cell of T.scleroxylon and its cell wall percentage. The model based on mechanics of composites was precise enough to aim at theoretical MOE,and its relative error was less than 10% with both two dimension proposals compared with realistic MOE. It was feasible to simplify T.scleroxylon structure by laminated plates. In this theory, laminated plate structure could be used in other hardwood species.
