Abstract: 【Objective】 The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the spatial distribution pattern and sampling technique for Sphecodopter sheni larvae on Carya illinoinensis. 【Method】 Frequency distribution, six aggregation indexes(C, I, K, CA, M*/M, Iδ), Taylor power, and Iwao’s regression equation were used to analyze the spatial distribution pattern and sampling technique for S. sheni larvae on C. illinoinensis. The assembling reasons were analyzed using average aggregation size λ. 【Result】S. sheni larvae exhibited a characteristic pattern of aggregation distribution, and the aggregation intensity increased with the increasing density. The aggregation of S. sheni larvae was dependent on its own biological characteristics and environmental factors.【Conclusion】 The theoretical sampling table and sequential sampling formula of the larvae population were established, which provides a theoretical basis for the sampling investigation and helps in the prevention of the pest infestation.
