Abstract

Factors influencing rooting of tissue cultured shoots from cherry dwarf rootstock, Gisela5 and Gisela6 (Prunus cereasusXP, canescens) were studied. The result showed that the successful rooting system was closely related to the concentration of macronutrient of MS medium, auxin concentration and developing state of the explant. Jender shoots with smaller leaves and subcultured more than 30 times were cultured on the medium with 1/4 MS macronutrient and IBA 0. 5 mg/L for 15 d under dark condition. The highest rooting rate was gained from shoots of Gisela5 and Gisela6, which counted for 83.3%, 86.9% respectively.
