Abstract

In order to optimize the structural design of bamboo/wood composite manufacturing, and to supply some theory to manufacturing process. Bending performance at different height and radial location of the culm was analyzed. The density distribution was measured with the DENSE-LABX end density meter. The relation between the variety of density and bending performance was analyzed. The results showed that MOR and MOE increased both with the location from the inner to the outer of bamboo culm wall. Deviation of MOE was more notable. Bending performance of bamboo increased with its density, and the curve between them trended to be linear.
