Abstract: In this research, typical sampling method was adopted to sample in forest communities of Yushan, Changshu. And based on the data from 22 sample plots, forest communities in Yushan were investigated using TWINSPAN and CCA in order to analyze the structure of the communities. The results of TWINSPAN classification indicated that these quadrates were classified into 8 types based on the flora composition of canopy layer. CCA ordination demonstrated a significant relationship between Axis 1 and elevation, indicating the function of temperature. On the other hand, Axis 2 showed significant correlation with slop an aspect, which suggested humidity, illumination and other things played key roles in community assembly. The results also indicated that the distribution of the vegetation communities was mainly impacted by two environmental factors including sharpness and slope direction. On the contrary, the vertical distributional character was not obvious.
