Abstract: Greenland is an important part of complex urban ecosystems and provides significant ecosystem services. According to the spot 5 remote sensing data in 2005,the rank, connectivity and space structural measurement of urban green patches in Yangzhou were analyzed under the support of ArcGIS 9.2.In the analysis, some key indexes, e.g., landscape coincidence probability (LCP), integral index of connectivity (IIC), probability of connectivity (PC) and the important value etc., were introduced. The results showed that when the connectivity distance was 500 m, the order of important value reflected by dLCP, dIIC and dPC was almost the same. In the 2 km2 established core region by setting 500 m threshold value, the number and size of green patches accounted for 8 % and 16 % of the total respectively; the core region was mainly composed of medium large patch and large patch. The green patches in this area had high connectivity and low degree of fragmentation. In the future planning and construction, several aspects i.e., controlling land size of green core region, strengthening construction and plant protection in core region and constructing important node of core region in greenland ecological network should be concerned, they are important to enhance the ecological benefits of urban greenland system.
