Abstract: Objective to investigate the present growth status and future development trends about Ampelocalamus luodianensis population, the structural characteristics of A. luodianensis population in Dongja township of Guizhou province were studied. The results indicated that the number of one year and two years bamboos were more than 50 %. The number of one years and three years bamboos were fewer than the number of two years and four years old plants. Most ground diameter of individuals were between 0400 cm and 0698 cm and the heights of individuals were mainly from 4 m to 6 m. There was a notable positive correlation between the number of plants and average ground diameter in clusters. The results showed that the population was in growth states and the population structure was basically reasonable. It had the phenomenon of on and offyear in A. luodianensis population. The number of clusters showed the downtrend with the increases of number of plants in clusters. The average age of clusters was stabilized when the number of plants in clusters was above 10.
