Abstract: This paper deals with a new method of preparing rosin chloride directly with chlorine, which is different from the traditional method as shown in relevant materials. The chlorinated rosin soap lye thus made can be used as surfactant and lubricant in place of chlorinated paraffinum, as it is characterized by its properties of better condensation and antifrication.
