Abstract: Major predaceous natural enemies of the pine bast scale (Matsucoccus matsumurae Kuwana) in Jiangsu province include the brown lacewing, predaceous bug, predaceous mite, predaceous cecidomiid fly, syrphid, ant, etc. They move quickly and are greedy and generally synchronous with M. matsumurae Kuwana. All this suggests a promising prospect of biological control over the pine bast scale. This paper discusses the morphological and biological characters of these natural enemies.
