Abstract: "Jelly compound agent", a toxic bait for controlling Odontotermes fontanellus Kemner, Macrotermes barneyi Light and Reticulitermes flaviceps (Oshima), was made with rotten wood sawdust infected by Tremella fuciformis Berk and Auricularia auricula (L. ex Hook.) Underw, bagasse dust, agar and pesticides, as rotten wood sawdust had a stronger attraction to several species of genera (Odontotermes, Macrotermes and Reticulitermes) which infested Chinese fir plantations in China. This toxic bait had the following advantages effective, safe to use, easy to carry and popularize, while causing almost no pollution to the environment. The populations of Xylaria spp. are reliable markers of the dead colonies of O. fontanellus and M. barneyi.
