Abstract: By means of ecological sequence comprison, the effects of undergrowth on microelements(including B,Mo,Cu,Zn,Fe,Mn)of soils under Chinese fir stand in the central part of Jianxi Province were preliminarily studied Results revealed that the available contents of B,Mo,Cu and Mn of forest soils in this district were very low, those of Zn were at medium level and Fe was very rich Compared with the dicranopteris type undergrowth, the contents of available B, Mo,Cu,Zn in surface soil (0~6 cm) under young Chinese fir stand with pteridophyte type undergrowth increased, but those in subsurface soil(6~30 cm) decreased To the mature Chinese fir stand, the microelements states of soils under pteridophyte type undergrowth were much better than those under dicranopteris type undergrowth To the young Chinese fir stand with low site index(about 14m at the age of 20 years), pruning could enrich the dicranopteris, the available contents of Zn,Mn in surface soil were enriched, where those of B, Mo,Cu decreased
