Abstract: In order to get the data and information on the vegetation resources within the Nuozhadu nature reserve, which is going to be flooded after the Nuozhadu hydroelectric station is established, forest inventory was conducted with the aid of 3S techniques. The results of inventory showed that, the flooded vegetated area would be 313 hm~2 of monsoon ever-green broadleaved forests, which accounted for 2.8% of the total amount of this vegetation in the nature reserve,443 hm~2 of deciduous seasonal rain forests, which accounted for 33.5%,(10 hm~2) of Pinus kesiya var.langbianensis, which accounted for (0.2%),385 hm~2 of bamboo forests, which accounted for 41.2%,73 hm~2 of dry and hot valley savanna, which accounted for 65.2%,9 hm~2 of brush forest, which accounted for 2.2%.This inventory provided the fundamental data for the environmental impact assessment and management of the nature reserve.
