Abstract: Through characteristics analysis of the heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cu, Hg, Cr, Zn, Ni) and metalloid (As,Se) in the soil of four environment cells along the highway. The results showed that there were different heavy mental pollution. The pollution sequence was Qipanjing>Xuejiawan>Shulinzhao>Dongshen. Contrasted with soil of Dongshen there was signif-, icant heavy metal pollution of Cr in soil of Shulinzhao, Hg in soil of Qipanjing and Cr and As in soil of Xuejiawan. Scattering of coals during transportation of trucks and industry waste were the main causes of serious pollution in research sites although motor vehicles by themselves could cause heavy mental pollution in soil along highway. So it should strengthen the management of trucks with coals and control of industry pollution sources in order to provide safeguards for virescence of highway and control of heavy mental pollution in soil along highway.
