Abstract: In order to find the relationships between the lignification and the properties, and to improve the levels of high value added processing and utilizing for Chinese rattan resources, the Daemonorops margaritae, a unique rattan in China, is chosen as the research material to study the lignin distribution and content of the parenchyma and the micromorphological regions of parenchyma wall during the different growing development by the visible light microscope spectrophotometer. The results showed that with the age increasing, the content of Slignin in parenchyma secondary cell increased continuously, and the total content of Slignin and Glignin showed “decreasing—increasing—decreasing”. At the same time, the lignin content in parenchyma corner was higher than the parenchyma secondary wall. The contents of different kinds lignin in the micromorphological regions of parenchyma wall were the secondary wall <primary wall <intercellular layer.
