Abstract: This paper describes an experiment specially designed to test in Chinese fir(Cunninghamia Lanceolata(Lamb. ) Hook) the relation between harvesting season and vigor of sprouting. The investigation included the first budding time, the amount of budding, the dynamics of sprouting and the growth of sprouts. Through statistical analyses of these indexes, the effects of harvest season on sprouting characteristics of the specie were studied. The research also determined the optimal harvest season for a Chinese fir stand, and the time to be reproduced by sprouts.
