Abstract: Plants are constantly being challenged by aspiring pathogens.Plants have,in turn, evolved response systems that decipher pathogen signals and remain the invasion localized and induce appropriate defense responses. The action of small signaling molecules, such as salicylate, jasmonate and ethylene,is very important in the signaling transduction pathways and plant defense response. The interplay of signals probably allows the plant to fine tune defense responses in both local and systematic tissues. This review deals with the reseach progress of SA dependent and SA independent signaling transduction pathways and their interplay.
